Butterflies Sing

listening to the butterflies sing
~

taking 21 Sectets
joined Tam of Willowings workshop

she had us make a colloage

then we layered
painted
and
it is journaling
we wrote a piece under the collage

since mine is celebratory of our season I will share it:

Opening to Spring

waking from the depths of winter
yawning stretching
blinking lashes
more light
more life
song of birds fills a once hushed world
opening to the birthing abundance of new life
spirit within begins the dance
with a new season
a time to bud bloom and flourish
mating season of life
stepping
into the light

Thank you Tammie for your message about painting Mark. This is a great idea.
I haven't really done any live portraits for such a long time. Funny you would mention it as I've been thinking about doing this again with my family.
Hope your having a great week!

  16. You always have such beautiful thoughts on your painting and I enjoyed reading them so much!! I think there is something more important in life (like what you have written in your poem) so I guess it is time for me to take a break and find myself again :)

  25. Oh Tammie! You have been so creative and productive! I love your poems as much as your art. You did a fabulous job of translating your collage into a painting. Beautiful! Love the shadows on her face. And of course, those green eyes!

I also love your winged women and how FUN to look at your braids! Now I wish my hair were that long so I could braid it too. :)
